What this is

Draw Straws is a random selection tool for everyday decisions: who goes first, who buys coffee, who presents on Monday. By using the site you agree to these terms.

Fair use

• Use it for lawful purposes. Do not use it to run gambling, lotteries with stakes, or any draw where law requires a licensed operator.
• Do not abuse the service: no scraping at volume, flooding the API, or attempting to disrupt it for others.
• Names you enter are your responsibility. Do not post content that is illegal or that you have no right to share.

Randomness, verified but not warranted

Draws use cryptographic randomness and every saved draw can be replayed for verification. We still provide the service as is, without warranties of any kind. Use your own judgment before relying on a draw for anything with real stakes.

Accounts and Pro

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials private.
• Pro comes two ways, both billed through Stripe: a monthly subscription ($2.99/mo) or a one-time lifetime purchase ($14.99). Both unlock the same features.
• We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Payments, cancellation, and refunds

• Cancelling monthly. Cancel any time from the billing portal in Settings. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for; no further charges.
• Lifetime. A one-time purchase with nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.
• The 7-day no-questions refund. Within 7 days of any charge (a monthly payment or the lifetime purchase), email info@draw-straws.com and we refund it in full. No interrogation.
• What a refund does to access. A refunded lifetime purchase ends Pro access at the moment the refund is issued. A refunded monthly charge ends Pro access when the paid period it covered ends, or immediately if we also cancel the subscription with the refund.
• After 7 days. Refunds are at our discretion. Email us anyway; we are reasonable.
• Chargebacks. Disputing a charge with your bank ends Pro access immediately. Email us first; we are faster and friendlier than the dispute process.
• Prices may change; changes never affect a lifetime purchase you already made, and subscription price changes take effect at your next renewal with notice.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ten dollars if you paid nothing.

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
